EP Launch Night May 26th 2012 – SOLD OUT!!

11 Jun

I think I should start by saying, this day has been one of my all time favourites.
I woke up nervous, and excited; a year and a half of hard work channelled into this night, and this EP.
I hit the gym and went for lunch with one of the girls in the sunshine, like a true rock star, before starting the craziness of the evening.
My hair appointment was at 3.00pm with the beautiful Charlotte at RH Hair Design, who had me washed, blow dried, extention-ed and accessoried. When she was done it dawned on me how close show time was, petrified would be an understatement.

I wanted so much for everyone to have a good time so I knew it was on me and my wonderful team to make it happen. We had been rehearsing and rehearsing and rehearsing we knew the set, we knew each other and we had so much fun together, I had every faith we would have as much fun on stage as we did in rehearsals, if not more!

I got back to the house around 4.30pm when the band arrived to warm up, rehearse and eat cake. (Eating cake played a major part in all rehearsals, it only seemed natural for us to eat cake then too). As soon as I saw the band I calmed down, some of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and as a bonus, funny too!
The next thing I knew we were packing up the cars, the stage was set and sound check was on.

Sound check…

The room started to fill up as soon as the doors opened at 8.00pm, I was running around trying to say hello and thank you to everyone who had come out. I was overwhelmed with how many people were there and the distances they had travelled to be there.
Next thing you know, it was show time!
The first half went by so quick! Everyone was having a good time I was having a great time but I knew we could relax into the second half, so much so that I ended up doing a spontaneous Eminem rap on stage with the pianist! I was so moved looking at peoples faces when I sang my original material but nothing did it like singing Breaking My Heart (a track I’d written about my ex boyfriend, and how it was the BEST thing that could have happened to me) and the audience were singing with me, they sang it back to me and they got up out of their seats and danced with me. I have dreamed for a moment like this since I was 10 years old and now I want to do it again and again and again.
